However, they're struggling because they do not have enough cash to feed his family of 8.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Waleed Alghlidyan, his wife Amnah and their six children arrived in Nova Scotia on Jan. 19, 2016. They're among the government-sponsored refugees living in the province of Nova Scotia.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">The family came from a refugee camp in Jordan where they spent 2 and a half years.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Alghdyan says his family has received support from the government, the local immigrant settlement organization and neighbours, but the reality has been difficult.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">"We were expecting something better than this," Alghdyan told CBC News through an interpreter. "Expectations didn't meet reality."</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">The family was given $9,000 to buy furniture and provide them with their basic needs and look after other basic supplies. But after spending $3,000 to make sure everyone had a comfortable bed to sleep in the family thought they cannot afford to spent more.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">"If we were to spend all that money on furniture and supplying appliances and stuff for the house, we wouldn't have money to buy food and buy other essentials," Alghdyan said through the interpreter.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Like other government-sponsored refugees with families of a similar size, the Alghdyans receive a monthly living allowance of $1,350.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">He, his wife and 6 children (8 in all) are living in a three-bedroom house, the rent is $1,100 a month. The family also has cable, phone and internet bundle costs $114. So, $1,000 for house rent plus 114. cable bundle is $ 1,214. They only have about $100 left for food.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Some people are stepping in to help, friends neighbours others supporters too. They have a furniture and food drive to help out this family.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Alghdyan hopes other Syrian families, also struggling to make ends meet will be fortunate in finding friends and neighbours willing to help them out.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <span style="font-size: medium;">Privately sponsored refugees are much better, because they have a built-in support group not like the government-sponsored families. </span>

Researchers found a relationship between eating a poor breakfast as a teenager. Also about 68 percent had a higher incidence of metabolic syndrome at the end of the follow-up period. <br /> Obesity and high fasting glucose levels were strongly linked with poor breakfast habits in young age or adolescent period.<br /> <br /> Previously, another study conducted by researchers showed that skipping breakfast could be especially harmful to women who are overweight in that it seems to induce insulin resistance, a known diabetes risk factor.<br /> <br /> <div style="margin-bottom: 0cm;"> A <a href="http://www.hngn.com/articles/8364/20130722/skipping-breakfast-increases-risk-heart-attack.htm">study</a> conducted last July revealed that not eating breakfast increases the risk of heart attacks while another <a href="http://www.medpagetoday.com/MeetingCoverage/ENDO/39883">study</a> also said it increases the risk of type 2 diabetes.</div> <br /> <b>Understanding the Mechanism:</b><br /> Researchers of the current study are not so sure about the mechanism that connects a poor breakfast to increased risk of metabolic syndrome.<br /> <br /> “Further studies are required for us to be able to understand the mechanisms involved in the connection between poor breakfast and metabolic syndrome, but our results and those of several previous studies suggest that a poor breakfast can have a negative effect on blood sugar regulation,” said Maria Wennberg, the study’s main author.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

Because of its aroma and taste kopi luwak became their favourite coffee to drink.
